Dr. Anjhula Mya Singh Bais talks to His Royal Highness, Manvendra Singh Gohil, the first openly gay member of a royal family in the world, about his personal journey from childhood, into an arranged (heterosexual) marriage and emergence into his authentic self. Manvendra Singh Gohil is the former Crown Prince of Rajpipla, an erstwhile princely State of Gujarat and the 39th direct descendant of the 650 year-old Gohil Dynasty.
In 2000, HRH Manvendra founded The Lakshya Trust which is a community led organisation that works to advocate for the social, economic, legal, psychological and spiritual health of LGBTQIA people in the western Indian state of Gujarat. He is also the Brand Ambassador of AIDS Healthcare Foundation India Cares, the world's oldest and largest non-profit organization for HIV testing and treatment.
