Navigating European Healthcare Ecosystem: Intimate Conversation Dr. Atilla Vegh
1h 0m
European healthcare is characterized by an important and often dominant role of public healthcare providers and payors, but there is a wide variety of organizational models, reimbursement rules and politics pulling in different directions.
How can you enter this market and successfully navigate the intricacies of different countries, regulations, and cultures? How can you capitalize on the opportunities and avoid the pitfalls that may lay before you?
YPO Healthcare Business Network, with the help of the Europe Region, is working to produce a description of the four largest healthcare markets in Europe: Germany, France, United Kingdom, and Italy. While of course this does not cover the whole continent, success in one or more of these markets can serve as a flywheel for the activity in the entire continent.
In 2023 we have chosen to concentrate on the organization of healthcare service delivery in these four countries. We will discuss the roles of primary vs acute care, provide a description of the hospital landscape diving into the characteristics and roles of public and private providers, take a picture of the push from inpatient to outpatient services, and sketch the main national plans for new infrastructure.
