Disagree Better, Post US Election
1h 23m
Disagreements aren’t always simple and, in these increasingly polarized times, can often lead to closed hearts and minds. Another way is possible. By coming together with a willingness to listen and engage in good faith, it is possible to navigate debates with civility and composure, allowing for differences without losing mutual trust and respect.
Join us for an insightful session with the Colorado Governor, Jared Polis, and Utah Governor, Spencer Cox, as they share how they teamed up to fight political polarization in the “Disagree Better” campaign. The initiative was introduced by Governor Cox, a Republican, in 2023 as Chair of the National Governor’s Association (NGA), working side-by-side with Governor Polis, a Democrat, as Vice-Chair. Their effort seeks to reduce political polarization nationwide — from the debate stage to the dining room table. The Disagree Better initiative brought multiple Democratic and Republican Governors to the table, as well as US Supreme Court justices. As the new Chair of the NGA, Governor Polis will continue to champion the bipartisan cooperation espoused by the campaign.
This event occurs the week after the US election and the discussion will include how this initiative will move forward under the new reality.
